Nut allergies are so common— for those who can’t consume almond or other nut milks, hemp milk is a great dairy free alternative! Hemp seeds are really one of the most nutritious foods available, as they contain a great balance of those great omega-3s, magnesium, iron, zinc and antioxidants like vitamin E. Around 25% of the calories in hemp seeds come from protein. Even more, they contain ALL the essential amino acids, making them a complete protein source (I know I’ve got MANY plant-based followers so here’s a new way to add more plant-based protein to your diet!)
2 Ingredient Dairy-Free Hemp Milk
- 1/2 cup hemp seeds
- 3 cups filtered water
- Add the hemp seeds and water to a high powered blender. Blend on high for around 45 seconds.
- Strain through a nut bag or a thin, clean kitchen towel.
- The “milk” will stay fresh in your fridge for around 5 days!
